Getting to the different sections of the Loch Ness 360° is very easy by car or via bus route. The trail comes right into the city of Inverness, to Inverness Castle. Travelling here is simple with great road and rail links, as well as flights to our international Inverness Airport. Below you will find information as to how best to travel to and where to find the entrances to the six key sections of the LN360° trail. Travel to Inverness and the other five LN360° starting points

Section One – Inverness to Drumnadrochit

Getting Here

Section one of the LN360° Trail begins at Inverness Castle, in the centre of Inverness. You can easily travel to Inverness from anywhere in the world by flight, as the city has its own airport. From within the UK, you can also travel by road or rail. Please see our guide to travelling to Inverness for more information.

Section Two - Drumnadrochit to Invermoriston

Getting Here

The second section of the trail starts in Drumnadrochit. This Loch Ness village is a 30-minute drive from Inverness – see map for directions. Or there are several regular buses – bus stops and services.

Section Three - Invermoriston to Fort Augustus

Getting Here

Invermoriston is the starting point for section three of the route. You can drive to this Scottish village from Inverness in about 50 minutes – see map for directions. The bus takes just under an hour – bus stops and services.

Section Four - Fort Augustus to Foyers

Getting Here

Section four begins in Fort Augustus. This village can be reached by car from Inverness in around an hour – see map for directions. There’s also a regular bus service between Inverness and Fort William, which stops here – bus stops and services.

Section Five - Foyers to Dores

The fifth section of the trail starts in Foyers. This is around a 45-minute drive from Inverness – see map for directions. You can also get a direct bus from Inverness to Foyers – bus stops and services.

Section Six - Dores to Inverness

Dores is the starting point for section six, the final part of the route back to Inverness. Dores can be reached by car in about 25 minutes – see map for directions. There is also a direct bus – bus stops and services.
